National Fish & Chip Awards 2024

This week was once again the highlight of the year, to celebrate the seafood industry with our members, partners, and friends of FASFA.

We held the Annual Fasfa Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the morning before the Awards, where all of our members have the opportunity to get together before the National Fish and Chip Awards. It is always great to see everyone together.

This was followed by the prestigious Awards, where 650 of the world's dedicated Fish and Chip industry gathered together to support and celebrate the finalists.

It was great to welcome a new category for International Fish and Chip Shop of the year, showcasing that the UK’s iconic dish is enjoyed around the world. With finalists from Vietnam, the US, and Iceland, the winner is Wright's Fish and Chips in Georgia, North America, sponsored by our members JFK Seafoods.

Ship Deck from Wales are the overall winner’s Fish & Chip Takeaway of the Year category, a huge congratulations to them, chosen based on their expert industry knowledge, outstanding customer service, and strong environmental standards. Sponsored by Pukka Pies, McWhinneys, FASFA members Smales, VA Whitley, Friars Pride and Henry Colbecks, Oi Chef, Kraft Heinz and BD Signs. Ship Deck use FASFA member’s Ramoen frozen at sea quality, MSC , Norwegian sustainable fillets and the Award was handed over by Norway’s Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy at the Fish & Chip Awards 2024 in London

Whiteheads Fish & Chips is this year's winner of the Environment & Sustainability award! This award recognises the fish and chip shop which tries the upmost to reduce their environmental impact. Jóhanna Jónsdóttir, the Deputy Ambassador for Iceland, attended the annual Fish and Chips Awards. Seafood From Iceland was among the sponsors of the event, and Heiðrún Lind Marteinsdóttir, CEO of Fisheries Iceland, and Pétur Óskarsson, CEO of Business Iceland, presented the award for Best Fish and Chips Restaurant to Knights Fish Restaurant from Glastonbury, the winners of which were awarded a trip to Iceland. The Icelandic Fish and Chips restaurant "Fish and Chips Vagninn" was also nominated in the category for Best Overseas Fish and Chips Restaurant.


Thank you to the National Federation of Fish Friers for their organisation and for raising the bar once again. We look forward to continuing to support the event next year and beyond.
